Where’s IT at Preston is a website and Android app to find locations of free computer access in Preston, Lancashire. The Android app is aimed at those on low income or unemployed who may not have computer access at home and may need to update their CV, do job searches or make benefits enquires.
This app was created for the Council for Voluntary Service Central Lancashire in partnership with Digienable and was funded by the National Lottery.
The website design was built using my own Cornerstone responsive starter theme for WordPress which is based on Zurb Foundation. The website use Google Maps to show locations. The locations can be added/edited from the WordPress admin area.
The Android mobile app is native app written in Java. It shows the locations either as a list or as a Google Map. The app gets the list of locations via the website using the WordPress REST API.
